Although more a Blue Caps fan I do like the sound and talent of the Comets/Jodimars and I must admit that the Jive Romeros have got it spot on...It swings, It is very skillful, and simply excellent...just like then...
Rock on Romeros,I bet you would get any dead people to get up and jive. This should not rate below 6 stars...Well, now dig this is a difficult song to play...

32deuce is correct. This was the biggest hit the Jodimars had after leaving Haley and the UK music magazine Now Dig This is named after the song. There are several other Jive Romero videos on Youtube including several covers of Haley songs.
Hi P. I filmed the band that night, so I guess i've got the only video of the excellent Jive Romeros at the moment. Hopefully we'll see more of them on YouTube in the future.

Hi DoowopRick, glad you like them (I bought a Panasonic High definition camcorder, and used it for the first time filming The Jive Romeros.. and its default setting was "Long Play".. guess I should have read the instructions first!)

Who perfomed the original?

Unless anyone out there knows any different, it was originally done by The Jodimars. The Jodimars were formed in 1955 by three members of Bill Haley's Comets. They named their group by taking letters from their names....JOe D'Ambrosio, DIck Richards, and MARShall Lytle.
