My parents grew up with Johnny Gimble...I never got to meet him...I heard all kinds of childhood-young adult stories though! I like to see a home town boy make good!

There should be a new category for Johnny and give him the award for it. Since he is the only unique guy that plays that way and that well, he should be the only one with that award.......There may never be another Johnny.

@jbjumpback Boy it is good to see Johnnie looking so strong and youthful. He is around 84 now and had several small strokes, but when I played with him in Taos at one of his camps he was still playing till midnight. He is made of music. He is still making the rounds with his family band, The Gimbles...
