  • The title of the debate is very unfortunate.

The Western civilization is clashing with the uncivilized islam.

In that sense it is not a clash of civilizations.

  • @MeTaLiXe why

  • Poor Dabashi is not even a Muslim. Before you criticize the man, pick up one of his books (he wrote over 20). He is more critical of the IRI than you think and has been an avid supporter of Palestinians since his days with Edward Saeed.

  • hamid jan, bache akhund we will fuck your islamic republic

  • yes, you muslim pig, islam is a threat to all people not just the west. we have many islamic terror attacks, we have a government agency set up to counter the threats of islam. our miltiery, police, fbi, and Cia have to work hard to keep islamic terror away. we can't go on an airplane quickly because of muslim pigs. thats just a few of the coutless items i can name because of the terroristic religion of islam.

  • Hamid Dabashi is an impostor, he is living in Free America but collaborating with Islamic regime of Iran. Shame on you Hamid, shame on you..

  • @nameonwhitestone Dear Mr. Whitestone, I read "A Common Word" as soon as it came out in 2007 (probably before you did) because I, like many, yearn to see Muslims clearly, en masse, stand against all forms of extremism in their community. The document itself is not that great. What's worse is who does it represent? 138 people? Tell me what its support is in the Muslim world. I'd say it barely registers. This is your evidence of Muslim reply. Look, just stick to proving 911 was an inside job, OK?

  • Raymond Ibrahim is a dick head

  • Wonderful!

  • With respect to Dabashi, he leaves out the Classical civilization. I do not know why, unless, because it is pagan, it isnt worth consideration. I actually consider Western civlization, and most specifically the Reactionary movement called the "Enlightenment" (Thomas Paine is better is more definitive than Kant) arising from the careful differentiation from East Civilizations by the Writers of Hellenism.
