Community Health Action Network (CHAN): The Salvation Army, India Eastern Territory were holding the event at Chanmari YMA Hall in Aizawl at 17th June 2011. 'The Quilt' for the first time in Mizoram (North East India) is then displayed by volunteer youths of the Salvation Army there. Five blocks of eight pieces of memorial quotes by the affected families for their departed relatives were displayed, i.e. 40 persons' names were seen there. As it is the initiation stage, there is no more than 200 peoples who were invited by CHAN from HIV/AIDS affected families and HIV field workers across Mizoram. Anyway, it is a breath taking scene for the participants and on the televisions (transmitted the day after) as there never had been such a huge memorial event for deaths due to a single cause affecting more than 40 families.
