  • I didn't realize how big those birds are. BTW, those passenger cars are dead ringers for the Budd cars built for the California Zephyr in 1948/49. Love your videos!

  • @gumup Emus are big mothers that can frequently look me in the eye. I believe that some genuine Budd cars were converted to crew cars that are in use on some of the long haul freights.

  • @13frontrow They are set up with instruments to measure ride, geometry, levels etc. They can pinpoint sections in need of repair and realignment. If you look hard as the train passes you can see under the cars except for the leading wheels of the last car. I'm guessing that's where the ultra sound and high tech stuff that checks the rails for flaws is. And it's not a dumb question if you didn't know they did this.
