Scrapping compressors for "Electric Motor" scrap

The noise in the background is the old General Rotary compressor in its death throws, it lasted 30 min before seizing up!

The compressors are defective/expired NOS from reputable MFG's, and are unfit for sale as usable stock, which it why the scrap yard I contract for, buys them as scrap.

The whole pump and stator assembly is classed as elec motor scrap, and its very easy to make 500kg a day with a constant supply of compressors.

  • I got loads of them in the backyard here, could open them and such but what to do with the liquid in it?

  • @damyan2009 its just oil. I dump it in with my oil waste and get rid of it for free at the local waste transfer station

  • did you get all those compressors for free or did you pay for them?

  • @karlomontemayor the junkyard I work for gave them to me (approx 5 tonns of them) for processing since they could not get rid of them un-processed.

only Condition was I don't sell the scrap to any other yard.

  • How do you get a steady supply of them?

  • @MrLeonard55 they are discarded by the manufacturer in bulk. usually old stock or faulty batches.
