War spending. The costs of war are ravaging populations and undermining the possibilities for human development and peaceful co -existence. This piece illustrates the human cost. It marks our losses using art as a means to create a record for history.

  • A Call to Arts has done it again! This work of mixed media is chilling, and the symbolic use of 4,000 drops of blood to mark the 4,000 US deaths in Iraq is a powerful statement of protest. Moving, too, is the representation of the death of Iraqi civilians and children in this piece. The heartbreaking truth is that over 300,000 children are killed globally as a direct result of the violence of war. Brava to the artist for once again shaking us up by her stark, honest, and moving creations.
