  • @vinobody That's not quite true. Some would argue that his best years were when he was writing most of his own songs. What'd I Say, Hallelujah I love Her So, Hard Times, What Would I do Without You, Ain't That Love, My Bonnie, Fool For You, I Got a Woman, etc. Most of these were during his years at Atlantic Records, which many critics would consider his most fertile period.
