Nick: *watches her from the door for a few seconds before going and sitting on the floor in front of her* nice poem...
Sel: *still doesnt look at him and whispers softly* its a song.
Nick: *Shrugs, still trying to catch her eye* Ok, then. Nice song.
Sel: thanks...
Nick: You ready to talk yet? I mean you did write about it...
Sel: writing about things is easier than explaining them to people sometimes, Nick.
Nick: Then write it, Ill read it and well know whats going on.
Sel: *looks up at him narrowly* thats ridiculous, Nick. Im not doing that. If you dont understand by everything thats happened between us so far, then telling you would kinda defeat the purpose...
Nick: Purpose? Sel, this isnt THAT serious... i dont know why youre turning into such a big thing.
Sel: Once again, you dont know. And i dont wanna explain it.
Nick: *getting frustrated* well, how am i supposed to do anything to fix it if you wont even tell me why this is bugging you so much?
Sel:*looks at him apologetically, the feelings shed been holding in from everyone flooding all over her face and body. She composed herself again quickly, hiding all the emotions flowing around her body*
Nick: *sat there, wondering why shed reacted the way she did, mesmerized by the only things still showing pain and love mixed together: her eyes*
Sel: *her eyes burned into his and melted, she could feel her insides slip away easily* just forget about it.
Nick: *shakes his head slowly, his eyes and heart both hooked on her willingly* i cant do that. Not if its bothering you... Is it that hard to tell me the truth?
Sel: *stands up and heads for the door*
Nick: *climbs to his feet, reaches for her hand and pulls her back slowly to face him*
Sel: *her eyes snapped towards him and rested there, his face showing concern and weakness*
Nick: *slowly wraps his arms around her and hugs her tightly, as if there were minutes left in the world*
Sel: *She tries to fight the temptation but ends up clutching onto him for her life. She slowly lets go, his hands slide down her arms before finally catching hold of hers again, pulling them apart*
Nick: *looks at her, intently. The silence grew more comfortable and welcoming with every movement that passed between them. He leant forward slowly and pecked her cheek, lingering before looking back at Sel one last time before letting go of her hands and drifting upstairs out of sight*
Sel: *standing there watching him. Why was this so hard for her and not for him? Why was she the only one that worried about this? Why does he make her feel this way? Why is he fighting for her this much when she is the one starting the war?*
*next day*
Sel: *waving the boys off at school*
Nick: *looks at her gently before walking off ahead, knowing hed get nowhere seeing as she was still upset*
Sel: *turns and sees him. She smiles gently to herself before catching up with him and sliding her arm through his* hey.
Nick: *turns, surprised to see her* uh... hey.
Sel: So, whatcha doing?
Nick: *smiles* nothing... you not upset anymore?
Sel: *plasters a smile on her face, she knew as soon as hed ask that, shed have to act better than ever. She continued walking* nope.
Nick: Ok... gonna tell me what it was all about?
Sel: No need.
Nick: *breaks their arms apart and touches hers with his fingers, gently scraping them across her skin* Sel, i have a right to know...
Sel: *becoming angry and upset* Nick, lets just please forget about it?
Nick: Just explain it to me...
Sel: *getting more frustrated*
Nick: *rolls his eyes* SEL?!
Sel: *her anger, fear, love, compassion, hopelessness, it all bursts from within her. Her heart beats fast, her words are spoken with force and emotion* I cant take it! I love you ok? I refuse to ruin ANYTHING between us because thats what i ALWAYS do. If we have an argument while were together, itll be over forever. I dont wanna lose you, Nick. I dont wanna have to choose between us and the boys... I love you, Nick... get that now? I love you... *calms down and realises what shes just done... shes told the boy she loves everything... shes opened herself to him way too much... shes gone and hurt herself for the sake of him...*
