I don't blame the brits for talking more about the Human Rights stuff that our sports, ecomomy or food: for 15 years, most of the chilean exiles in Europe were of left-wing.
2:02: "Miracles have been known to take place"...and the guy coming off the grave, LOL
O'higgins wasn't a hero. Pinochet loved him because he was a dictator like him. So he label all the city of Santiago with his fanaticism. So much that until recently all classrooms had a picture of o'higgins by obligation.
I remember visiting the General Cemetery in Santiago a few years ago: I walked and walked and still couldn't visit the whole place. Maybe 2 or 3 times would do, that cemetery is enormous.
can you explain your comment, if you dont mind. Norway is too far away for me to know the history of chile, but you got me curious. If you tell me a little i will try and search for a more detailed history. akedna@live.com

O´Higgins was the real independence heroe, in fact he fought hand to hand with his soldiers. Last part just was political bullshits, lefty guy.

O'Higgins wasn't a real hero... he betrayed Manuel Rodríguez (the true patriot and libertador) and the Carrera Brothers to keep power for himself.
