actually, a number of key players amongst them robben and van persie have already stated in the dutch press they feel 2014 will be now or never for their generation. i agree with you to some extent. obviously, aforementioned players will be around in 2016, but a large number of key players - such as rvp, vdv, robben, sneijder - will be in the prime of their career in 2014. certainly in the context of a world cup. by 2015 it's fair to assume they're past their best.

30 isnt that old for a soccer player. So i think it is nonsense to say its the last chance for the whole group. Some of them: yes (like van Bommel) but Robben, Sneijder, v Persie, Van der Vaart, Huntelaar, Elia, Affelay, Strootman, De Jong, Stekelenburg etc. will be there in 2016. Only thing you need is new players to replace v Bommel, etc (the ones who will be too old then to play anymore).
But I do say you need new young talents too.

tsja....wat een drama die penaltyseries van oranje zeg...verschrikkelijk...heb er zowat een jeugdtrauma aan overgehouden...maar goed dat ze tegen Zweden wel hebben gewonnen in 2004

for this generation it'll be their last chance but i'm sure we'll have another group of fantastic players after that. bert van marwijk is already a great coach.
