Based on more than 25 hours of never-before-heard audiotaped interviews conducted by noted journalist Michael Azerrad, the movie KURT COBAIN ABOUT A SON is an intimate and moving portrait of the late musician and artist Kurt Cobain, told entirely in his own voice — without celebrity soundbites, news clips, sensational or tabloid angles. It's who he was from the man himself, with cinematic imagery shot on film of the three cities in Washington State that played a major role in his life (Aberdeen, Olympia and Seattle) and set to an evocative score by noted Northwest musician and producer Steve Fisk and Death Cab for Cutie frontman Benjamin Gibbard, as well as the music of more than 20 artists who influenced or touched Cobain during his life. Kurt Cobain About A Son opens in select markets in October.

  • I feel hypocritical when i watch this. I love nirvana, Kurt is my inspiration and i just love hearing his point of view/his outlook on life, everything he says I've thought and i agree with him, he's my friend in a way i look up to him. But when he says "My personal life is none of their business" It's aiming towards us, i feel like listening to this is sacred and he would hate us for listening to his personal opinions... does anyone know if he wanted this to be shared to his fans or what?!

  • This is the movie that made me start loving Kurt Cobain, then Nirvana, which lead me to start appreciating music in general more

  • @imsohappywaitnoimnot this audio was taken from interview he did with michael azerrad a journalist for the book come as you are. Kurt participated actively so if he participated in doing the interviews for the book I don't think he would have mind that the material was listened instead of readed.

  • @BrandonCobain13 he could also want people to think he's fine or he was fine and got worse. we want to think he didn't do it. what i think is that he was just sad, simply sad about everything and had enough.

  • @imsohappywaitnoimnot i think he did, he wanted us to know that his life was his and only his business, and plus he says you don;t need to everything about me. These were tapes taken from an interview for, Comes As You Are, so he did want us to know how he felt about people looking into his life.

  • When I was 14 I first heard Nirvana. Off course it was SLTS I heard, but at that time I pit them aside just as a "Good band". It wasnt until I heard their song "Dive" that I realized that I fucking loved them. I was always facinated by Cobain, of a simple reason - he in a way looked like me. Not in apperance, but in views, and personality. He suffered from the same things I have, and has faced the same troubles as I. I have a princepal of not having idols, but damn! He comes the closest.

  • What is the name of the song from 0:00 to 0:25 seconds? I've heard it a few other videos and really like it!
