@danisrob This guy is asking a public servant a simple question regarding traffic laws. If you work for the city to serve the public you should be subject to any sort of scrutiny by the public. This guy has been assigned to escort a group of cyclists so he should be aware of basic laws governing cyclists. The fact that he can't or chooses not to answer just shows that he is pretty unaware of traffic law. If he was a doctor you wouldn't want him to lack basic medical knowledge.

I know they have "Courtesy, Professionalism, Respect" written on their squad cars, but that has never been the case with any NYPD I've encountered. This guy is no exception. The mafia has all but disappeared and government goons like this clown have replaced them. Virtually indistinguishable. Thanks for filming him and posting. Cops are not here to make to safe. They are here to harass and intimidate so that the political masters are able to continue stealing.

@danisrob If you had any background knowledge of what is going on in NYC right now, you;d realize that there is a HUGE point to what he is doing and proving. Cyclists in the city are getting tickets, stopped, harassed and arrested for things that are not illegal. The police here do not know or care what the laws are and there is a crackdown on bikes which seems to be aimed solely at harassing cyclists and discourage cycling in the city.

I think the people enforcing laws should know what they are. I don't like to see anybody get shown up just for the sake of looking bad. That officer was not serving the public and not protecting either.
