http://u-turnusa.com Paramotoring the K2 has changed powered paragliding forever. Commonly referred to as the biggest advancement in the history of the paraglider the K2 has brought safety, performance and fun to a whole new level. Before the K2 beginners would start their journey into the world of backpack aircraft on completely different gliders than what more advanced pilots would fly. Beginner or "school" gliders as they were referred to were designed with very toned down capabilities in order to get the canopies to pass the highest levels of safety certifications. There was a huge separation between what new pilots would fly and those that the more experienced pilots would choose for themselves. This also meant that new pilots would first purchase "school gliders" and then 6 months to a year later they would then purchase the more enjoyable higher performance gliders. Enter the K2! Now a glider exists that is so advanced it surpasses the performance of most everything on the market other than completely uncertified competition gliders while also exceeding the safety requirements of "school gliders" and setting an all new level for stability and ease of flight. Made with the brand new ultra high tech fabrics from the worlds most legendary developers the K2 weighs about half of what the canopies of yesterday use to weigh while offering more capability and benefits in every single way. The K2 also adds for the first time in history auto stability to a fully certified canopy. Many attempts have been made to design auto stable canopies but when trimmed into their auto stable configuration their safety & collapse recovery and therefore certifications went right out the window. Many of them turned into extreme nightmare deathtraps of gloom and deaths and injuries were the result. The K2 breaks through the barrier of auto stability & safety to set a whole new standard by being auto stable while IN its fully certified configuration. So you get both the Holy Grail of auto stability but while also exceeding the highest level of safety in a fully certified canopy. It is estimated by some experts that the K2 will increase safety by as much as 800% over even the very safest of school gliders. So the safety level is off the charts with the biggest breakthrough in the history of paragliders but they did it while also advancing performance and capability to a whole new level. The glide ratio of the K2 with a competition harness in a reclined position is estimated at 9.7:1!!!! Plus the handling at every speed setting is incredible with a fantastic feedback & feel at trim, fast trim and full speed!!! Other canopies attempting auto stability marketed as reflex gliders not only lost all safety certifications in their reflex mode but most of them also lost the ability for the pilot to even control the canopy in accelerated flight! The K2 maintains extremely control and feedback at every speed, full auto stability at every speed including trim speed and fully certified safety even while fully accelerated. Now the brand new pilot can purchase for their very first glider the exact same canopy chosen by the WPSDA World Champion as his main every day glider making the experience of the new pilots in a realm never before comprehended. This is very encouraging to watch. Would love to get into the sport but watching videos of random frontal collapses and the news of recent deaths at World Championships by experience pilots got me spooked.

@lmankj Actually zero people have ever died on WPPGA certified equipment as of 10/5/2011. Those that die are doing so on totally uncertified gear and for very specific reasons. Just get with the experts and U-Turn USA and they can help you get the right gear the first time. It is an awesome sport with an incredible safety record if you do it the right way. Lots of idiots out there though which is why it gives the sport a bad name.

does having your arms up the whole time get uncomfortable?

@magnesium111 A little at first. It's such a rush up there, that most of the time you would never even notice! After flying for a while, you get so used to it!
