Miriam Makeba herself visitied the Huxtable household on NBC's The Cosby Show in the 1991-92 season. The episode was entitled OLIVIA COMES OUT OF THE CLOSET. Olivia(Raven Symone) meets MM and Olivia makes sure her navy lieutenant father doesn't go back to his ship from his furlough without saying goodbye to her. MM undergoes a photo session with all of the Huxtable clan(Clair brings her over). Olivia's father Martin tells MM that he saw her in concert when he was stationed in Africa.

I was lucky to get this song when I bought one of her CDs, I collect her songs. It is a pity most folks here only know Miriam as the singer of the Pata Pata song, she was much more than just that one song and sang many other lovely songs, both in her Native tongue and in English. Mama Africa will always be missed.
