A sword vs a gun? Hehe, with a single shot or semi auto handgun, at close range, even 20 feet away the swordsman might kill the gun operator.

Really comes down to luck, speed, and who moves first.

You might also simultaneously kill each other too, if someone with a sword rushes you and you shoot them (even in the head) their momentum will keep carrying them and they might damn well cut your head off even though they're already dead!

Lastly, blow for blow, a sword is MUCH more likely to kill.

an average handgun bullet travels at about 600 - 1000 feet / second, at the click of a trigger, humans dont use swords anymore because they are un ranged and inefficient,

It takes time to aim the gun and pull the trigger. When a guy with a sword is 20 feet away and charging, it really does become a tossup to who wins.

Of course, in anything other than close-quarters combat, a gun beats any melee weapon hands down any day.

@que288 That is why i personally hate guns, because i hate having to fight at long range i want to see the fear in the eyes of someone who saw his bullets being dodged by something much more evolved then he could ever be and flat his face with a nice knuckle sandwich to the face, the problem is that we're stuck to a real life where humans are very limited in how far they can go and have terrible reflexes and honestly you can train your mind and body for years but you never get far.
