Thanks for the kudos, truthabouttrucking. People who sit here and preach about how you must have schooling to obtain a CDL is bogus. It was a daycab and 48'er, not a road truck like i am in now, it gave me the drivetime i needed. I received experience while i hauled flooring for 1 year with a mack CH650 and 28' pup with liftgate. I stayed after hours and went over the pretrip, and backing. Took the test and passed. Perfect example of obtaining a Class A license for no cost.

For us to say, "That's a bad school" or "don't go here or there", would not be the appropriate approach.
What we do is give you the tools and knowledge for you to make an educated decision.
One thing you can do is type in the Google bar the name of the school you are interested in, and add the word reviews next to it. So if you are interested in USA, then type in USA trucking school reviews.
Thanks, we appreciate it. Everyone should be reading it who is even thinking about trucking. We try to tell them.

Heres the truth...I have been in trucking for 17 yrs now and it gets worse and worse every year...Im sorry to be blunt but with rising fuel costs freight rates that dont go up and the highways and byways littered with so much traffic anymore it really isnt that fun anymore!!My suggestion to someone getting their CDL is to "DRIVE A TRUCK FOR A PRIVATE COMPANY,DONT DRIVE FOR A TRUCKING COMPANY"You will see the difference!Trust me

You have some very valid points. There is another place you can post that so that you can share this with many other drivers and students. Just go to our Blog on AskTheTrucker
site.
If you have seen our TruthAboutTrucking site, you'll see we have some similar opinions.
Thanks for the comment,

cdl training:
I did not go to a school and obtained my Class A by working for a crappy paying flooring wholesaler. They had a truck and i had my permit. Test was free in KY. I now drive for schneider and God has graced me with an accident, ticket free driving record. So you can just throw that "unsafe" crap out the window. By the way, i'm 22.

Amen! That's how people learned years ago.
A persons integrity and committment is what determines their success.
At 22 you should be quite proud of your accomplishments.

I am a CDL instructor at a community college. There are strict State and Federal certifications that can tell a lot about a school. And anyone who cannot do his own research by asking recent graduates, etc., is not suited to be a truck driver, anyway.

Not sure if you have read our book or not, but if you have, then you must know we are advocates of community colleges.
The CDL mills out there are very deceiving, and many young or just trusting people, fall into the traps of lies and scams. You really can't blame the people themselves for being deceived, but instead, those who prey on the eager to learn and trusting. Yes, they should do more research, and that's why Allen wrote "The Truth About Trucking"
THanks.
