Dude, you had to be there. The cops spooked the deer, had they just relaxed and let the dart do it's thing, the deer would have have come peacefully. The really crappy part was that the deer had been in those bushes since 6 AM and once the cops showed up we had to send back the BBQ and cancel the chef :-(

Looking back on the event I see how the taser was useful and better than a bullet. What I find interesting is the obvious lack of knowledge on the part of police in how to capture an animal of this kind. In my opinion as soon as the deer was darted the police should have backed off, but, instead they moved forward and I believe it was that forward motion that caused the deer to flight. Observe the two officers to the right, with the net, they start to move towards the deer and the deer runs.

taser is a safe option and has no effect on cardio rythem, better it was captured that way than being run down by a vehicle, recovery from taser is instant the only injuries from taser are secondary injuries from the subject falling

ahahah, your lack of knowledge is the only joke, the taser was necessary since tranqs take time and the deer got spooked, taser just stuns it, doesnt make the animal internally explode and have visions of massacres and horrific events play through its head, deer is fine

How do they justify having that many police officers applying themselves to the capture of one deer? And furthermore, how is it possible they are so inept? It seems to me like one deer could not possibly cause enough disarray to warrent having that many people do it. Seriously, one animal control employee could have handled this beter.
