@jayden777 I most definatly agree

I have both films on DVD. I like the plot of the first one better (not too much), but the animation detail is just dumbfounding. I hate to be cliche' and use the word epic, but for lack of a better one, the epicness of the second one is beyond comprehension. These films are timeless masterpieces.

i actually believe the story is pretty shallow and chaotic however i did enjoy everything else

Whenever want to show someone who's never seen anime before an anime, this is the movie that I show them. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's the best anime ever, but the minimal cheese and the fantastic production value is a good way to break in any ani-newbies.

If they were to make a live action movie of this my number 1 vote for director would be Guillermo del Toro (Blade 2, Hellboy 1&2, Pan's Labyrinth) He's perfect for this kind of thing

I personally like Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust more then the first one lol.

@Esperanzafleet69 if you want an extremely gory anime try genocyber, once it gets into the story a little its got some great scenes although the overall story is crap
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is hands down, one of the best films. Powerful, provocative, atmospheric, edgy, imaginative, moody, and memorable. This trailer (cheesy voice included) gives no justice to how wonderful the film is. The direction, score, main characters, villains, cinematography, atmosphere, and art direction (amongst numerous other elements) is superb. The story is solid too, and the person who voices D is great. Thank you to those involved for producing a passionate, magical gem.

I own this on DVD, it kicks ass.
The voice-over for the trailer was done by Michael McConnohie, who voiced D in the first film.
