Video defect. Like the "tape" was being eaten as it was being played. Even with a little rasp creeping into her voice, Dame Kiri' s singing is still a wonder to behold.

It takes tremendous athleticism and control to do those pianissimos, especially the sustained one at the end. She repeated that again in Hyde Park in 2010 too. It is absolutely stunning that she could still do that over the age of 60.

This is even more stunning than her passionate performance of 20 years earlier. The ease with which she soars to the high notes is breathtaking.
