  • Where's the supercharger at? I didn't hear no blow off valve?

  • my wrt54gl is still running strong for 6+ years with 3rd party firmware

  • Shit,still usin my 54g-does what I need & does it well.

  • @bcvmxzbvnbxcmv yeh ikr

  • @katakisLives I hear ya..I was def. nervous after reading the same warnings. For me, I guess the benefits we're worth the risk (esp. since it was such a cheap router). I've got it set up to connect to a wireless hotspot and then repeat that signal (wireless repeater). I was so excited when I actually got it working! If you're router does what you need it to, I'd say you made the right choice. Maybe if you feel like tinkering/learning some time, you could order a cheap one online to test it out.

  • @jjc032681 Its a Netgear router, What really put me off was all these warnings that if the update didn't complete for any reason it could brick the router! all the methods seemed somewhat radical for what I thought should be a simple software update, the router works fine, I just wanted to squeeze a bit more performance out of it and I decided it wasn't broken therefore it wasn't worth the risk of bricking it!

  • @katakisLives i bought a 25 dollar router about 8 months ago now, and flashed it..was not hard at all..still running strong..it sounds a lot harder/scarier than it is..let me know if you want me to pm you a link to the router and a step by step. Maybe spend the $ on that to practice with and get used to the dd-wrt firmware. What kind of router you wanting to flash?

  • This sounds a lot more complicated than I was hoping! all I wanted to do was update the firmware to the latest version and it seems far more likely I'm going to brick the router than achieve that! some sites claimed that the details you needed to imput to access the router were on the back, however I saw nothing of any use there! if only it was as simple as Win updates! I'd rather put up with slow internet than risk bricking the router!!!
