There are, at least, three reasons for me to celebrate the jubilee of November 9, 1989, the day the Berlin Wall fell down, with a domino video:
- As far as I'm concerned, it's just the greatest day in German history.
- In Berlin, the fall of the Berlin wall was celebrated with 1000 huge painted dominoes (one of them painted by mmcodomino) to symbolize the inorexable power of the protesting people 20 years ago. So I wanted to contribute to that with my own project.
- In Domino Day 1999, there was a similiar project for the tenth anniversay. It was especially that project that fascinated me so much that on the following morning, I took the 28 dominoes we had in our house (the ones that have dots) and tried to built domino towers as well. From that day on, I have been a domino builder. You see where I have come up to.
"20 Jahre Mauerfall" means "20 years of the fall of the Berlin Wall", and that is just not cut out for being a title... also, this video is, of course, mostly addressing German viewers. That's why the title is partly in German. "Wir sind das Volk", by the way, means "We are the people" and was the typical slogan of the Peaceful Revolution.
Dominoes in the project: 3179, Breaks: One, watch it unedited here:

Don't forget to comment and rate; the editing of this video was quite tricky, maybe it turned out a bit strange. Too dramatic, too long, too few dominoes? Please give me your feedback, thanks.

nice video. Its also a bit about Poland, and Lech Walesa ;) he toppled the 1000 dominos :)
Its a really important and great event, nice idea to celebrate it with a nice domino project ;)

I watched it on TV as well. The rest of the show was rather lame, I think, like the music acts, for example. The dominoes were definitely the best part ;-)

That break wasn't intendended, lol. I don't think Germany has failed at re-uniting the two parts of the country.
