According to the Wikipedia, Umbrella Cockatoos can cause loss of hearing. Did you say something? Eh? Parrots and Cockatoos are not domestic animals. What you are seeing is normal behavior in the wild.

Having a cockatoo in your home is like having a perpetual two-year-old with a pair of pliers and a foghorn. Just like with a child, mommy or daddy must be around all the time. One difference, babysitters just don't work. Please visit www.mytoos.com BEFORE adopting one of these creatures. Don't buy one from a pet store or breeder. Adopt a rescue that already bites and plucks their feathers. That way you will not turn them out when it happens.
