This is a copy of the lecture I presented at a teach-in March 2, 2011 at Ohio University. It argues that budget priorities under President Roderick McDavis have incrementally weakened Ohio University's central educational function and are bringing the university to the verge of academic and economic failure.
The final scene, of course, is from The Return of the King (Warner Bros.), clipped from another YouTube contributor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcPOv8lmEi8&feature=related.
thanks for breaking it down; really helped me understand what's going on, and for including the clip from return of the king at the end, thank you for that too.
that speech makes me cry every time!

This is far more concrete than when we were arguing circles in your religious beliefs class back in '07. Funny how similar the reactions are to god and finances; both being unconditional and stricken from criticism.

Thank you so much for your insight and your words of encouragement, Dr. Hays. It is so important to have individuals such as yourself in the world.

Dr. Hayes, thank you for posting this. Amanda and I never had a chance to hear this at the university.

Dr. Hayes, I went to OU and graduated in 2006. All I ever saw of Roderick McDavis was an aimless, aggressive bureaucrat. It sucks that he's still the president. When I graduated, I thought his days were numbered. Can't believe that idiot is still there.
