A quick and basic introduction to creating a smoke simulation in Blender's physics tools. This should cover everything necessary to get a renderable smoke with shadows.
This video acts as a catch-up for those students who have missed any of our lunchtime Blender sessions.
Blender 2.5 alpha 2 is the version used during this tutorial

  • How do you make your smoke thicker?

  • @MoNDockS225 - I'm pretty sure that you increase the 'scattering' value on the material panel - on my video I used 3 and it gave a nice thick smoke - but it also depends on the background colour, as smoke stands out better against a darker background
