Single aus dem neuen Album "Honeydew"

Old Ms. Johnston lived all alone
on the sorry side of town
Broke down cars and burglar bars
on the windows and doors
In case danger comes around
sitting in her yellow kitchen
listening to bad news on her A.M. radio
Used to be Louis Armstrong
then Martin Luther King
Where did everybody go?

Out the window where her garden was
It's not safe to go outside

Old Ms. Johnston in the eye of the storm
It was the safest place to hide

Yeah life's a gamble for the broken and the weak
dealing with the bangers and drugs
the winos weave and amble
and shuffle on down the street
steering clear of all the thugs

Now my city hangs her head in shame
Can't tell the truth from all the lies
everything changed forever
and everything stayed the same
On the night Ms. Johnston died

  • @scottymacIII Yes, "Nameless Faces" is the name of the song. It's from the Honeydew album (the same album that this song is from).

  • Either everybody here is too young to remember or you have horrible memories... This guy is the same guy that released "Lullaby" a long time ago (15 years?). He definitely seems to have grown a lot as an artist.

  • Great song, sad story, I had to google the name to get the references. May be my new favorite artist.

  • is there a song called Nameless faces? is there a song with chorus " weve been waitin, weve been waitin so long, for you to come back home" please please tell me the name of that song, been searching and cant find it anywhere

  • Enjoy this, you may never hear this excellence again.

  • @lilibon - Amen, coming from a person who hasn't done drugs. What a waste of taxpayer money. What do I care if some stoner sits around giggling to Grandma's Boy. It's none of my business and especially not hte government's business.

  • Please Shawn, come to my town. I want to see you live.

  • Who could not like anything this guy sings?

  • Haha, I just found this guy. Quite fond of his work so far. Just realized he has the same initials as me too. xD SM

  • Please Shawn, come to my town!
