@youngfart40 "why this thing hasn't sold like hot cakes?" because it has a fucked up price tag.
-
I'd love a stretched Q. Bring back the 100 seat turboprop!
-
So how do I start flyin' it?
-
@youngfart40 What is known is that the Q400 uses 30-33% less fuel than a regional jet, is almost as fast but since it has a faster gate turnaround time, it can keep a jet-based schedule. It's also cheaper to maintain. A big plus is that a Q400 can fly 1/4 full and break even, profit-wise. Many regional airlines, such as Horizon Air, sold off their jets and now run all-Q400 fleets.

@sirMIREK ATRs are cows. I've been on the Q and the ATR; by far, the Q wins out, no debate.

I hope EuroLOT will not buy this aircraft. In my opinion ATR 72-6 is much better...

it's a biofuel powered aircraft. mofo!!!!

Man I did the math on this thing based on website info. If I got it right, this thing can do 650 miles with around 2000 litres of gas. Thats really good. Infact its so good I wonder why this thing hasn't sold like hot cakes? they should have clouded the skies with thing ! IF I was going to start an arline right now I wouldnt even look at any of the jets including the 37, and 320.

I wonder what the fuel flow of this thing is. I wonder how much gas it would take to go, say 650 miles, anyone know?
Very efficient, advanced aircraft

@youngfart40
It seems to be selling quite well, it has a lot of operators and there are more than 350 in service. And its biggest user, Flybe, has more orders on the way.
I love this aircraft, I heard Bombardier are thinking of developing an extended version of the Q400, but nothing's been confirmed.
