This video show how you whit muscle energy technique kan stretch the posterior sacroiliac ligament.
It´s very offen to short when there is problem in the SI-joints or pelvis area.
Be very aware that the hole spine is locked, by streching the supraspinosus ligament, so there is no movement in the spine.

  • Hello

It is quite true what you point out, but when possible. m. gluteus maximus, piriformis and other outward rotators are strain shortened ligament and prevent normal biomechanics of the SI joint.

So to "extend" ligaments is necessary for extending the muscles and / or detone them.

    Best regards

  • @nas0827 Sorry, but you are wrong. He did not say supraspinatus and there was active pushing by the patient.

  • Supraspinatus is a rotator cuff muscle, also this is NOT muscle energy. Muscle energy is a patient active technique.
