Nice-but if amateurs attempt stack and tilt it is surely going to be hard to come from the inside-and result in an over the top slice. I know it would for me!

@cockywatchman1976 good point. Stack and Tilt features a steep shoulder turn which in turn requires a flatter arm swing. Most people have steep arm swings.

hip slide will shallow out the descent of the club. also having more weight forward allows the golfer to swing out at the ball to push and draw. when all the masses of golfers pull and slice the ball

It's hard to suggest that if you believe that 1) the biggest factor in winning tournaments is the quality of the swing, and 2) one recent example is sufficient. (Where would your argument have been the week after he won the Players?)

There has never been an era in golf yet where the guy with the consensus "best swing" was the consensus best player.

Bads doesn't do this anymore. He has reunited with his childhood swing coach from Austrailia to develop a swing that better suits his talent and ability.

Tiger Woods didn't play very well in 2004 when he was changing his swing, everyone struggles through a change because they focus more on the swing and long game than their short game and putting. I have full faith in Badds that'll he will be back in form for the next season.

Fnlost. Hogan did what i believe was correct. He made it impossible to move laterally to the right going back by having a solid right knee as you pointed out. The point is that it was not stack and tilt because on his backswing his weight was fairly central NOT STACKED onto his left side. It actually still went right its just his setup stopped the lateral movent. It was and still is a great way to swing the club

good point sargesw, I think that all the talk about hogan being a stack and tilt player is based off of a false understanding of the picture of Hogan at the top of the swing. By just looking at the picture, at the top, it appears as if he has kept his weight on his left side. In reality though he has simply started his weight shift slightly before reaching the top of the backswing. There is definitely in Hogan a slight move to the right at the start of the backswing that is stopped by setup.
