@CatFuzz71 Permit me to clarify, you're correct, there are no cables on the lift in this video but if you re-read my comments you'll see I was speaking of twin post lifts, in particular those scary deadly asymmetricals. Those friggin things should be outlawed or mandatory safety training should be imposed on the wrenches that use them.
-
@CatFuzz71 What are YOU talking about? Obviously you're not familiar with the equalizing cables that are routed from one side to the other...either in an overhead enclosure or beneath a ramp-like cover plate. These are a safety backup should either post break a chain or suffers any sort of failure....both locks will automatically engage. I've probably been wrenching longer than most of the posters here have even been alive LOL ASE Master Tech here.

@asswhole455 What are talking about? There are no cables on a lift like that.

Well that's a real piss cutter!
-
This is why I do all of my own work on my truck
-
@skrapinflesh That's exactly why the cable tension needs to be checked more than once a decade LOL Not only for proper slack but EQUAL slack between BOTH cables...otherwise the lock on one post may / will engage before the other throwing the car over at an angle making things worse. Glad I don't wrench for a living any more!!!!!
Well it makes the exhaust easier to put on now
