  • too short!!

  • You're right. I'll put a longer version up soon.

  • Alright I have no problem with the dancing in this. Yes, the men are shaking their hips more than I'd usually like to see but its ok. None of them are shaking their chest like tito, none of them are 'bey2asemo', none are doing the 'ra3sha' and none have a scarf tied around their hips, I seem to see only the women have that done. However, tito does all the above which here is only done by the women, which is exactly my point.

  • Go look at the clip from Luxor. The men do all those moves. If you like, I can send you a playlist.

  • Thank you. Check out my latest interview Dance and the Egyptian people, its got some good information.

  • thats how we egyptians dance. peopleee!!

  • Anyway she seems to be my french bellydance teacher Sandra Khaloun..

  • If you read the info at the beginning of the video you would have seen that I explained this is not a professional dancer and that most dance is done socially at parties. There are no schools in Egypt to teach dance. People learn socially and if the go professional, they may hire a choreographer to teach them stage presence. Others learn it by working in theatre groups but they are expected to already know how to dance. Tito learned how to dance Baladi at home then joined a folk company

  • I'm not being defensive. You're judging me based on two videos I made a long time ago when I was angry because I didn't realize the nature of people and their negativity. This video was made in an entirely different context and for a different purpose. Not to defend myself, but to share cultural insights for people who may never get the chance to visit Egypt.
