RIP St. Louis by Freestyle Friday Champ Big Will

I actually came up with the record a year ago. I had heard about a shooting at Club Plush when it was open. I was going through beats and when I heard it I just vibed to it. I didn't write the record, I actually just said the first thing that came to my head because I wanted the message to be simple. We as artist sometimes complicate the message when we write. I didn't want that for this record. I wanted it to be straight forward.

I deided to put it out when we lost 100.3 the Beat in St. Louis. I feel part of the reason they lost in ratings is because they did not do right by local scene. They would be more willing to play an out of town artist than an artist who supports their clubs every night. Part of the reason they're not around anymore is because they fell victim to the saying "you get what you give"

The response to the record has been mixed. Most people agree with the overall message of the song. One thing you can't argue with are facts. These are facts I am portraying in my music. The Projects actually ARE being torn down, a lot of the music IS influenced by Atlanta, St. Louis IS known for having a crab in a bucket mentality.I feels it takes for somebody to hold a mirror to your face before you see yourself for who you are and what you're doing. The question is, HOW DO WE FIX IT?
