An online function would be neat. Imagine competing against or allying yourself with other player-run car companies. Or companies fan by multiple players. Some players could focus on the design of the cars while others could focus on the sales and business.
Just an idea.

Wait, as you design the cars, what exactly affects your marketing abilities?
For example, if I put headlights on it in an odd manner, would it sell poorly due to "looking stupid"? Will other companies make similar styled cars to take a slice of the pie? If a competitor has a similar looking car, will your advertising slightly affect their sales? So many possibilities with such customizing!
(Yes, I'm taken in more by the tycoon aspect and customization than car enthusiasm, so sue me.) :D

@h3lblad3 To be decided, we're aiming it to judge looks to some extent, but that who "Teaching a computer what beauty is" thingo is kind tough ;)

This is pretty realistic as car companies look at each others designs to better their own. The hard part is how long should you wait for a rank update. If we were talking about a 1 day wait cycle it would be easy, but for a near instant rank perhaps it wouldn't be doable. Still it would be cool.

@cloud819 Interesting thoughts there will be an online gallery function for you to upload cars to, so ratings on there could feed into that system.
Regardless, there will be some kind of system for this.
