It's installed by default. In a terminal, type 'sudo apt-get install ccsm' to install the configuration manager.

Open from the top menu: System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager, then control if in the List is selected ALL, then write in the Quick Search: "compiz", and Mark to Install with right click the: "compizconfig-settings-manager " then press Apply button... After the installation Open, System->Preferences->CompizConfig Settings Manager, and then u'll select what u want.

You already have it installed, you just don't have the settings manager:

First, you need to make sure that you have your hardware drivers enabled (search "ubuntu hardware drivers" for more info). Then, go to Synaptic Package Manager and get:

compizconfig-settings-manager
emerald

Adjust things by going System->Preferences->CompizConfig Settings Manager. Emerald isn't necessary i guess, but it is what you'd use to make your themes awesome.

i already have all that stuff with the visual effects enabled......
just don't have the stackswitch plugin. (don't really want it anymore) so thx anyway.
