kanzashi is the name off hair decoration. and nano hana is the flower kanzashi.
the only time a maiko wears two bira bira kanzashi is when she has her misedashi (her debut)

@madenkind its the father and brother. One's family is allowed in the okiya on the day of your debyu
-
A Man and Boys in an okiya? How is that possible? I thought it's never allowed for men except the dresser to enter the okiya.

The hair salon is called Kachie, it's in the middle of the Tsurui, Tama, and Fukushima okiya. I'm getting my hair done in ofuku there in 2 weeks! (*__*)
I've watched the BBC's story of Yukina's transformation into a Maiko, plus her debut and it was so much for formal then Mameteru's here. They were both in Kyoto right?

Yes, they both are from Kyoto, but they are from different districts (Yukina works in Miyagawa-cho and Mameteru in Gion Kobu). Mameteru went through all of the same formalities as Yukina, every district does, but they just didn't show them in this documentary.
