you don't know the half of it..until they fill your life to the top with hope and wonder.

@pjac317 Man, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually agree. Billy handles this tremendous band by himself superbly. His drumming is incredible by itself, and I think that's a big part of why I like Europe 72 stuff so much. Mickey's playing definitely brought something to the table, but I feel sometimes his playing was sort of distracting and brought the drums too much into the foreground.

Never realized it was Phil supplying the high harmony on this track on the released version. Forgot he could carry a tune back in the day. Jerry doesn't trade verses in this video although he does on the overdub they released.

My favorite tour. I've never heard anything from this tour that I didn't like.

The first time I heard this song it was on vinyl for this tour with HUGE really nice headphones, it was one of the most intense experiences, no joke.

don't like when Jerry bows out and decides not to sing his few lines - for whatever reason.

Thank God for ANYONE who ever pointed a camera at the Grateful Dead between 1970 and 1981, and saved the film or video. We just didn't know what we had while we had it.

Thanks for this treasure trove! Hadn't stumbled into it till now. Marvelous music! Sigh ...

So much better without that Hart guy .
What a beautiful version. It's nice to see it with the audio synced up with video too, as other versions of this night are out of sync. Diggin Jerry's Stratocaster too :-)

3:53 - 4:06 The Grateful Dead's best keyboardist... Keith Godchaux. He actually played a grand piano, nothing could replace Pig Pen but Keith just added that extra intense solo no one could ever match.

What a treat that these European performances were captured on video. Too bad they didn't get the entire tour on 8 mm film.
