Buddy Merrill is a fantastic guitarist and steel guitarist best known for his many years on the Lawrence Welk show. Few people know just HOW good he really was, and we are going to put a few clips on youtube to help set the record straight.
Here Buddy plays one of the earliest Stratocasters ever made, given to him by Leo Fender himself. Why? Because Leo was a fan!
I PLAYED WE BUDDY WHEN HE WAS AT WEST POINT NY......SAL'S MUSIC STORE IN NEWBURGH....WE WENT TO THE GUILD GUITAR FACTORY IN N.J... WE BOTH GOT CUSTOM MADE GUITAR.......ABOUT 1957 WHEN HE GOT DRAFTER.....GOOD TIMES.....GOD BLESS BUDDY....WILLIE SHANE
