Six part series taking an in-depth look at the rare Johnson Millenium JM-150 modelling amplifier and it's features, sounds, and programming.

The mission when this product was brilliantly engineered at Johnson Amplification was to provide the actual sound characteristics of dozens of classic amplifiers using internal "models" that are emulated via strict parameters, electronics, analog, and digital design. Essentially owning this amplifier gives you the versatility of owning over $200,000 in classic amplifiers, and probably another $250,000 in studio-quality rack effects. There has not been a product manufactured before or since that achieved the true claim of "modelling amplifier" in one complete & thorough package like the Johnson Millenium.

Part 6 features a studio recording of a guitar instrumental song using the Johnson Millenium exclusively for ALL TRACKS except the drums.

Johnson Amplification was a subsidiary of Digitech Electronics and was active from roughly 1996 to 2002. Their website is still alive today, although left dormant with no changes for over a decade.

  • You said solANDo like 10 times! It's solDANo!!! Not trying to be a dick, just made me laugh!!! Great videos though! I just picked up my second one of these and I love them so much! I bought my first for 2000, the second for 400 with the J12!!!

  • I'm very late to the party, but must say very nicely done. Makes me want to pull mine out of storage and revisit it. Not particularly easy to change the 2 preamp tubes but sure glad they're there to make the tone better than other modeling amps. The biggest limitation and why I stopped using mine is that the effects loop is only mono.

BTW - it is Soldano, not Solando. Just saying... ;-)

  • Excellent job on all videos.. Might be nice if they were numbered so the order could be followed easily... Thanks

    Daniel
