I think Buscemi's character's fate was sealed at 0:32. I think that was the moment Storemare made up his mind about killing him. Everything between 0:32 and the rest of the movie is just pathos.

Among my family, we refer to any IHOP or breakfast place as Pancake's House. Actually, it's gotten so we talk about restaurants in general as Pancake's House. "Should we go to Pancake's House, everyone?" " HELL YES!" and then we end up at Panda Express. It's very confusing. My father often uses "Pancake's House" to mean "food". " Man, I could really go for some Pancake's House right about now"- " Are we going out?"- " No, I meant make me a sandwich."
