With the goal of making classical ballet relevant for a new generation of audiences, artistic director Stanton Welch has put his 21st century signature on this 19th love story. Set to the hauntingly beautiful Tchaikovsky score, Swan Lake tells the classic tale of Odette - a beautiful maiden transformed into a swan by an evil knight - and the prince who swears his enduring love for her. It's good and evil in black and white, danced on rich and spectacular sets by the late, great Australian designer Kristian Fredrikson.

Performed by Mireille Hassenboehler, Andrew Murphy, and Artists of Houston Ballet.

  • I absolutely agree...apart from never actually getting on point look at the right foot and leg 'hanging'..dropped upper back ..unmusical fouettes ignoring the accent....she just needs help maybe

  • Shocking, is this an etoile of this company?

  • Slow and heavy limbed

  • lost it on the end of the series. She was really strong and centered for the first 16 ct.s

Then the music picked up and so did she.

She lost the leg movement and solid base, so lost the 32 fouettes. Too, bad. Nice basically.

  • But she did a few double pirouettes

  • She only did 26 Fouettes....

  • Nice fouettes
