@skater1737 .....You can put Fosters through cylinder with no problems. I put a few through my Bone Collector. Lots of fun to bust up old watermelons, but I wouldn't try hunting using slugs with it. It's really a dedicated upland game gun.........or at least Remington expressly made it to be around water.

Gun-Test magazine did a review on this gun in Sept 2009 issue, the review listed the following about the Remington 887:

poor shotgun, nose heavy balance, rattle in receiver, poor finish, action rough - sticky, and the gun did not shoot to point of aim. They even mentioned the included magazine plug did not restrict the gun properly! Unreal? You can tell some of the poor quality just by handling the gun alone....compare it to the SuperNova, game over.

if u want a waterfowl gun an a slug gun buy a 11-87 its way better

@skater1737 this gun isnt exacly made for slugs its made for water fowl hunting but it is a shot gun so it should throw slugs but a 20 ga has better balstics with slugs

Out shooting again today. I was the envy of the crowd. And guess what the others had? An 870 and a super nova.

Dont get me wrong, it shoots properly but the slide & action is stiff, It hung up on me a few times, the over all feel of it was not in my intrest at all. I looked into it quite a bit since my last few comments,

I'm still not impressed.
