  • @jewinthecity Isn't it a sin for a man to have sex without the intention of having kids, such as by using birth control?

  • @runnerman550 No, the prohibition from the Torah that you're referring to is for a man to "spill seed," so that dictates the type of contraception that's permitted, but otherwise, in certain specific instances which I mentioned in the video (an authority on Jewish law must be consulted first) birth control is not considered a sin.

  • I say this with the utmost respect for your holy work. Zera l'vatala is one of the most severe aveiras. (Nidda 13) Does not "birth control" encourage it?

  • @lk890000 I didn't make this stuff up! The Talmud talks about when birth control is permitted. Different rabbis disagree as to how lenient or stringent you can be with this concept, but they ALL agree that it is SOME times appropriate.

  • I love your videos. I was wondering if you do all the writing yourself. I've found that the way that you explain the halacha and minchagim is very clear. I've often directed non-Jewish and non-Orthodox friends to your videos.

Also, I see from your twitter that you've had another boy. Mazal tov. My tweets are locked, so I can't offer my congrats. there. Much nachas.

  • @turnbuster thanks! and thanks for passing them on. i due in fact do all the writing myself.

  • @SkreetGil I can't speak about "religions" in general, only Judaism, but to be a Jewish woman is a wonderful thing. In Judaism, while women have a greater obligation to cover their bodies, men have a greater obligation to keep their eyes from wandering to other women's bodies! Also, in the Jewish marriage contract that has been around for thousands of years, a husband is obligated to fulfill his wife's "needs" and if he doesn't it's grounds for divorce! In Judaism Adam and Eve share the blame.

  • I really enjoy your videos, Im not a jew and have no desire to convert but I find your videos so interesting/entertaining .... Keep up the Good Work!! God Bless

  • @jewinthecity Thank you.

  • I bumped into your videos by accident, but I love them. You are a very concise and clear writer. I happen to be a Christian goy in love with Jewish things. I seek knowledge about all things Jewish because I love the roots of my faith. Keep them coming.

  • @jewinthecity oh I can def, vouch for the amazing number of kids per family....freehold mall, on a sunday is fun to watch all the families and their well behaved kids.

  • @leilarojas Hey there. Not sure where you get your information about Lakewood. Maybe just your block happened to have that many kids? I know plenty of people in Lakewood, whose children number from one (yes, one adorable 4-year-old girl) to eight, maybe nine (and I'm sure there are people with more). Most of the people I happen to know there have, on average, four kids. I think you may have been exposed to a very small variety of people there.
