Are you running KDE or Gnome?
I really want to get openSUSE, does anyone recommend anything before I (hopefully) install?
Thank you.

just check out any of the tutorials that your distro has, usually each distro has a master forum where u can go to to ask for help or find out new things as you are learning how to use linux.

It really depends also on what version of Linux you're using...and if you know what you're doing most of the times you won't be using the command line nowadays...I never use it myself unless I "really" need to...and when I need to it's not very hard at all...

Because to me linux is a novelty, and everytime I put it on my computer I get fed up with having to use command prompt to install software. I have yellow dog on my PS3, works like a charm. Maple on Ps3.

You may find lot of linux distros out there im=n market. But when it comes to documentation and support I believe the leaders will be openSUSE since backed by excellent Novell backend. Its all time that red hat has been word-to-word publicity. But openSUSE KDE was I felt comfortable quickly than fedora, ubuntu, yellow dog linux.
Give OpenSUSE 10.3 a try, you will love it. With YAST2 (yet another setup tool) forget yum tum .... :)
