IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE?

Well it doesn't to us too! From what we know Joe fought Kai in the beginning and both claimed to have killed each others father. From there Joe looses Kai and searches for Kai to finish their battle. Kai kidnaps Joe's girl/friend. On Joe's journey he meets others and Kai (or BIG BOSS) sends fighters to stop Joe.

Last episode... Joe lost his girl/friend and he tries to find her. Joe reaches Kai's gang members and defeats them all but is knocked out by Necko (and Raion).

I say they try and keep him. Interrogate him, he escapes, they catch up to him, beat him up(start of big first scene), and then some one saves him, they team up after joe gets on feet, Tag team fight(climax), and continue. woot.
