Miss USA Rachel Smith falls during Miss Universe 2007

On May 28, 2007, Miss Universe 2007 took place in Mexico City, Mexico, and a very cocky Rachel Smith sure thought she was going to win. After all, she appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show after being crowned Miss USA 2007, and Winfrey declared that she would win Miss Universe.

Things began to look ugly for Smith after falling flat on her ass during the evening gown competition. She did, nonethless, advance to the top 5, but that did not sit well with the crowd who booed her to such an extent that co-host and former Miss Teen USA, Vanessa Minnillo, had to call on the audience to stop. With her hands touching her chest, a very shocked and greatful Miss USA thanked Mexico City after answering her question. It was obvious that her confidence had waned.

Rachel Smith was placed fourth, last among the top five. She was not surprised, and neither was the crowd. Japan went on to win the title.

Rachel was NOT booed because she fell. The Mexican audience is always full of classless people... The exact same thing happened in 1993 Miss Universe (which was also held in Mexico), they booed Miss USA that year also because Miss Mexico didn't make it as far as her and they are JEALOUS!! Simple as that! Has nothing to do with politics or slipping and falling...it's jealousy and classlessness of the Mexican audience. Your bias and ignorance is incredible!
