In Frank Turek's "I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist" lecture series, he answers a critical question asked by a student at The Ohio State University. Watch and see how Frank answers her question.
@jamaicanification - So I should ask you, what is morality to you? You seem perfectly fine offering up lame ideas to why my thoughts are wrong, so lets here some of your thoughts on morality, what it is, and what is important about it. Just saying 'god defines morality' or some such remark won't cut it. Is morality whatever god says it is? If god says it is moral to kill your neighbors, would you think it was? God would never say that though, unless those tribes were evil.
@jamaicanification - of living that provides a better standard of living than others, for everyone who chooses to abide by said standards of morality and laws. Some may choose not to, and as long as they don't violent situations, someone may just have to learn the hard way whether a particular behavior is beneficial. However, morality for a christian isn't entirely that important. God will forgive almost any sin, as long as you believe in and accept his 'holiness.'
@jamaicanification - If that's what you think morality is, just whatever anyone wants it to be; with no one individual, group, or species that that can say another is doing wrong, I think it is you who has the problem understanding morality. Why you would think that a god that you can't possibly know is required to 'set the standard' of morality when morality is nothing more than a thought, a concept, and a human conceit. But that doesn't mean that there is a standard of..
"If resurections happened all the time, we wouldnt look at Christs resurection as being unusual."
Acutally, a lot of ancient religions have resurrections as an article of faith. Furthermore, when Jesus was said to have been resurrected, ALL the graves in Jerusalem opened up, and zombies roamed around greeting the living.
Seems like resurrection was quite common in the ancient world, even according to the bible.
That guy sucks. What he should have done was found an intelligent and respectful way of saying "I don't know and I don't have that kind of authority," rather than coming across and a spinster.

"If I gave you a book to read...."
Someone once gave me Harry Potter to read - doesn't mean I suddenly believe in Hogwarts and I've become a wizard.
