This ship deserves this tribute. Its underpowered, and virtualy unklown to the Trek community except it appeared on only 4 episodes on all of Star Trek. May we salute her for her service which she never got credit for.

  • As a Trek fan of over 40 years, I say, good work. I'm amazed to see the mileage the fans have gotten out of a canceled 1960s TV series. However, now the mythical Star Fleet is saturated with too many starship classes.

  • That is not a bad thing either.

  • The Excelsior class and this class are my favorite..

  • The Ambassador class starship is my favorite also.

I always wanted to see it with a V wing style warp nacelle pylon and a a few retro TOS touches like the multi colored necelle collector lights and a few enterprise b touches like the main engine to saucer neck accents .

You can see it on enterprise c in a pattern relief but the same color as the hull.

You know why this ship got underused dont you ?

Some idiot prop guys were moving the table sized model and dropped it !

    Ughhh!!!!

  • May History Remember The Name Enterprise!

  • This music makes me want to do a jig! lol

  • It's easy to trace the progression from excelsior class to galaxy class in this design. It is one of the best ship designs in starfleet. From it's origins as an Explorer to it's final designation as a Heavy Cruiser, it fulfilled every role fairly well. The Enterprise C held it's own pretty well before she was lost.

  • So tell me if I am wrong: They kept the excelsior class until the 24th century but never used that class again?!

  • The Ambassador class was the test bed for the Galaxy class.... a cross between both galaxy class and excelsior class...... with a hint of constitution class aswell.... or that is the way it was written in the story.

    Galaxy Saucer Section

    Excelsior Nacelle Pylons

    Constitution Class Engineering hull.

In fact it was actually made as a homage to the Enterprise. considering all classes that were used to make it have had an Enterprise. That is why it was never shown until TNG... it was a tribute.

  • They acheived the aim of the Ambassador class looking like a step between the Excelsior and the Galaxy classes.

  • think the C is much better looking than the D which was a bit of a barge - sorry- the designers made up for it with the E which is smart, pity we never got see more of the C class, which I always felt/feel is Kirk's ship writ large - not a bad thing. Nice video - thanks for posting.

  • Yesterday's Enterprise was one of my favourite Star Trek TNG episodes. It was the only episode I can remember seeing the Ambassador class starship.

  • @adrius It sounds like Loreena McKennitt.

  • Most beautiful ship ever
