Here we use ether to "blow up" a tire that doesn't contact the rim very well. No animals where harmed but Jeff did loose hair on the first couple of tires.

  • is the guy lighting the tire last name nixon?

  • @ntm1997 No

  • this looks really risky but i have to ask how does it work? an how full is the tire? is it rock solid full?

  • @PRLatino22 The expanding gasses will push the tire out and it will make contact with the rim. In this case we had air going into the tire at the same time. The compressed air was needed because air leaked out until the tire was well seated. In other words, it would fall back off the rim after about 10 seconds with out the compressed air.

  • dont these go to duece military trucks?

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx Yes they do. I have a video with a few pictures of the truck these went on here in Youtube.

  • your welcome for my support

  • That made the job a lot easier.

  • The only two things missing from this video are a can of beer and a mullet.

  • @Intense951 The cheetah never semmed work on tires bigger than 38" to 40" or so.It was good, however to put baby powder or baking soda down it and shoot it off at some one as joke.

  • @1overthehillsfaraway yea dummy spray it IN the tire then spray it right on the tire sidewall in a trail that leads from the rim part of the tire. you can stand a little further away then light the wet liquid sprayed on the tire and the flame will travel down that trail to the inside of the tire and ignite. that way when it flashes it dosent burn your eyebrows off. So i dont know what im talking about??? that just goes to show how stupid you are. Your process proves it

  • @MrBullfrog92 spray a trail of ether? It's quite obvious you have no idea of what your are talking about... ha ha ha

  • @partsbenttoys What is the better way of doing it? I worked at a Goodyear for a number of years and this was the only way to get a bead on the rim of a really stiff tire like is shown in the video. There is really no danger here... you could spray and entire can of ether into a tire and the tire would not "blow up". this video is proof that it is not at all dangerous and it works perfectly.

  • @PRLatino22 the tire can cut you in peaces if it blows up, that is the risk

  • "thanks for your support" sorry, not me.

been doing otr for over 15 yrs at a buzy shop with more than 125 yrs of combined experience.

we have seen it, tried it or herd of it but there is a better safer way to seat tire beads.

if i was jammed up in the bush with a bad tire looking at a long walk out... well i would do it it "again". think about taking it to the experts who can do it without ether or harming themselves or you equipment. this is my two cents, take it for what its worth
