Prof. Drake conducted the first SETI experiment in the early 60s. In 1974, he and Carl Sagan sent out the so-called "Arecibo Message" - a binary code describing human features like DNA structure and location in the solar system. Despite millions of dollars invested in the search for ET intelligence, no alien has ever answered the radio call. But in 2001, a similar binary message appeared in a crop field near a radio telescope in Chilbolton, England. Could this have been the message? Robert Fleischer, coordinator of Exopolitics Germany, confronted Frank Drake with the crop field binary message. Here's what Prof. Drake has to say about it...

It's amazing the amount of people on here calling Frank Drake a closed minded idiot!! Are you kidding me people!?!? So you don't think aliens, that have the power, energy source and tech to literally knock down plants in a detailed formation, and from space no less, would not simply bombard the huge radio tower right next to the field as well as the thousands of radio towers all over our planet with this message!? Seriously people!? Not to mention that on a planetary scale this thing is tiny...

Part II - Cosmology exobiology: What if the parameters of the cosmological constant - lambda = 0, would not agree? Lambda = energy density of the vacuum. Could it be possible that it is outside our known laws of nature, physics beyond this, is something else we do not understand? What about the many dimensions as postulated by supersymmetry? Another major challenge, the search for liquid water, ozone and chlorophyll on other planets.

i agree, why would aliens cut down crop ... also the 'answer' is pretty predicatble, is exaactly the stereotype alien we think of. It also seems unlikely they can answer our message within 30years while it wasn't even aimed at anything....
