Donovan, Shawn Phillips, Rev. Gary Davis, and Pete Seeger

One of the worst performances by Donovan - singing a bollocks song out of tune. But he is a mean fingerstyle player.

I had no idea Pete Seeger had a TV show.

So what is the round thing on the headstock of the sitar for? Is it a hollow resonating chamber like the main body? (That seems a strange place for one.)

That's it exactly. It's a secondary resonator. Not all sitars have one.

Thx for posting, but where's the clip of Shawn 'cooling-out' the entire massive crowd at the Woodstock fest when some jerk on the PA system told the audience to be carefull there was alot of bad acid doing the rounds and the audience almost paniced till shawn came on stage and took everyone thru breathing and yoga excerises......A wise man indeed Shawn.

Kind of makes its own space--that was nice to "feel" the time again....was amazing to see them at that early time--what natural talent!! God is Great!
